Wonderful house
We were a group of 10 friends that stayed in the house for two nights. Everything was so clean and the beds were great. Towels for everyone and everything that we needed in the kitchen area. The only thing we could suggest for improvement, was to have a larger refrigerator. Thanks for a loveyly stay :-)

Beautiful views!!!!
Property was exactly as described. Heidrun was great at communicating directions and very responsive! Home was very comfortable and well provisioned. We didn’t cook but had coffee maker, toaster and everything we needed. Made our first trip to Iceland a great experience! Would highly recommend the home. Thank you for a great stay!

Amazing property, perfect for relaxing and great location.
We spent 5 days in this property in February 2020 and loved everything about it. Our group was two families staying together - 4 adults and 3 children. The bedrooms were great, very comfy beds and pillows. The upstairs bedroom is a highlight of the property with large windows facing every direction making for great views during the day over the river and towards the mountains. At night you can lie awake looking up at the stars and (if you're lucky like us) the Northern Lights. The other bedrooms also enjoy great views over the river and towards the mountains. There's parking for 2 or 3 cars with a covered part of the drive to keep 2 cars snow free. You access the property via a small road that just serves a few houses. The road stops after the neighbouring house so there's no traffic - in fact it is always incredibly quiet and peaceful around the house. The kitchen has everything you'll need with a good variety of pots/pans/plates etc - we cooked every evening. We stocked up at the Bonus supermarket in Selfoss when travelling from the Airport on the first day and found that while it is more expensive than the UK the prices were not as crazy as you might expect. The Hot-tub was used every evening despite some chilly weather (don't let a little snow put you off!) It was more than big enough for all 7 of us to enjoy at the same time and made for a very relaxing end to the busy days. The location of the property is ideal for exploring the South of the country. Geysir and Gulfoss are a short 40 min drive away. The Thingvellir National Park was well worth a visit and about 90 mins away. We drove down to the Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls (both amazing) and had planned to continue on to Vik but some bad weather came in forcing us to turn back (always keep an eye on road.is for travel info). If and when we make it back to Iceland this property will be at the top of our list.

modern, clean, had everything
new property located on the banks of a pretty river valley, owners have equipped it with everything (waffle iron!), nice to have laundry, carport, BBQ, and hot tub - close to geysir and several other sights. owners provided a lot of great information about the area including what to expect over christmas holiday - and left a little Christmas gift for us!

Great location, great place, would highly recommend
We loved the VRBO. From finding it, easy check in, the modern amenities, all the working appliances , all the kitchen items we needed to cook and grill , comfy beds, beautiful view, northern lights from rooftop deck to mountain views in hot tub! Communication great while planning trip we never once had to call while there, everything worked and was easy to operate. Location good for Southern exploring. We were gone everyday from 8 to 9 PM was nice to come home to a warm comfy home and hot tub to soak in !

University group
The house was well appointed and very comfortable for our group of 7 and served well as a base of operations. It is the second time I have brought a university class to stay here. We highly recommend it!

Peaceful, Comfortable, Beautiful
We stayed four nights in this gorgeous house last week. Heidi was great to work with, and always answered questions in a timely manner. She was kind enough to allow us to get to the house a little early, but we got sidetracked grocery shopping, and arrived on time after all. For me, there are three factors that matter most with a home rental: cleanliness, comfortable beds, and a well-stocked kitchen. This house checks all of those boxes. The stunning views, the hot tub, the comfortable and beautiful living spaces were all icing on the cake. We were fortunate to have good weather all week. With a washer and dryer there, I truly could have packed even less than I did, making room for the Crowberry Liqueur and Brennivín, my new favorite drinks. Next time.

Great break from the city!
We enjoyed our two night, three day stay. We were provided with wonderful ideas of what to do while in the area! The house was the perfect size. We had four adults, one toddler and a baby. My daughter thought it was so cool that they left toys for her and the horses in the front were a huge hit. The views were amazing. Would highly recommend this property! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Perfect Location Fabulous Home Wonderful Owners
I have rented a home from Heidi and Rob three different times. My first two trips were located near the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. If you're headed that way, I highly recommend staying at their property near the charming town of Borgarnes. This time I showed my guests around the "Golden Circle" sites, and also the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). Because these friends were my guests, it was very important to find a home and owners that would help me demonstrate my most loving hospitality for these dear friends. Heidi and Rob's home in Laugaras was "beyond perfect." The house itself is lovely and well appointed. The views are stunning, with a meandering river, grazing sheep, Whooper Swans...imagine gazing at all of this from a nice hot tub! The Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Geyser locations are close by; and yet you are removed from tourist traffic when you stay at this quiet abode. My favorite part about this property is the family that offers it. They are wonderful hosts...very helpful and caring. It is their extraordinary, genuine hospitality that will make any visit to Iceland a lasting memory. Many, many thanks to you both! - C.

Great family place
We were 8 adults, parents and 3 grown children and spouses. This place was roomy with great views. The location was perfect to easily see the points of interest on the golden circle. T1he owners were especially helpful in answering any questions we had and also with tours. Don't think anyone would be disappointed with there stay there.

A beautiful home in peaceful surroundings
Enjoyed a 3 night stay in this beautiful home to celebrate my birthday with friends. The house slept 7 of us easily. The house had all the amenities we needed and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a full day sightseeing! The house is set is in beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Heiðrún was a great and answered all my questions promptly. Would love to visit in the summer too :-) Thanks for having us!

A Design Lover's Dream Vacation Property
Continuing our journey from Heidrun's fantastic property near Bifrost, we moved on to this amazing architectural delight in Laugaras for the second part of our Iceland trip. It is classic Scandinavian contemporary design; amazing use of space & light, all crafted with minimalist brilliance. This well equipped rental boasted breathtaking vista views (especially from the upstairs bedroom!), a stellar hot tub (where we enjoyed northern lights) and a great dine-in kitchen. Relaxing, comfortable, and spacious, with all of the comforts you need, this property is something special. Be prepared to have your Icelandic wool socks knocked off! Amazing Home in an Amazing Setting
There are no words to do this amazing home justice. Truly incredible, and one of the highlights of our Icelandic adventure. Beautiful inside and out, clean, well-supplied, and well-situated near the Golden Circle and Selfoss. The owner, Heidrun, is extremely helpful, providing all the information you need about the home, as well as surrounding sites of interest and convenience. I hope, if she ever decides to sell, that she'll let us know! :-)

Exceeded Expectations (Which Were Already High!)
Traveling as three couples, we wanted a quiet, scenic stay outside of—but not too far from—Reykjavík. We fell in love with this spot as soon as we pulled up. The photos do not do it justice, which is hard to believe given the lovely photography. The home was spotless and possessed every amenity, including a fantastic kitchen, waterfall shower, soaking tub and unmatched views from every window. Robert and Heidi were perfect hosts, offering information and guidance in advance, and responsive when we were on site. The hot tub heating unit wasn't working well for part of our stay, but they were immediately available by phone and fixed the issue. We would highly recommend this home, and will surely return on our next visit to Iceland.

It was so beautiful we were tempted to stop exploring Iceland and just relax and enjoy this house!!
A little out of the way but worth it in every way (get and follow the directions from the owner). This house is breath-taking. RIght on the river with unreal sunsets and sunrises. We loved the hot tub (although it takes a while to warm up, so be patient). Excellent communication with the owner and lots of room for our group of 8!. I cooked breakfast in the stunning and well-equipped kitchen and found everything I needed. I wish we had stayed longer.

A beautiful home in a most tranquil setting.
This home is a most special place on earth. The home itself is absolutely a perfect place to stay in Iceland. Our family of 8, all adults, ranging from 26-60+ thoroughly enjoyed the house, each room was beautifully appointed, the view of the river and the surrounding environs is spectacular. We spent our week enormously enjoying the beautiful home, location, and country. Some days we relaxed, prepared our own home cooked meals, and went off to hike or experience the numerous sights of Iceland, soak in the hot tub, or head into Rekjavik to enjoy the architecture and great Icelandic culture. We experienced water falls, hot rivers, lava fields, green, green, green everywhere. Tranquility beyond compare. The beds were all extremely comfortable. Robert was the perfect homeowner. His love for this area inspired us! He was avaliable for any questions that arose. He helped us find a local cook Aska, who prepared several lovely dinners for us. It was an iideal way to end the days filled with adventures, hikes, sightseeing, puffin watching in the Westman Islands, etc. The Laugaras area is charming and idlyllic. Anyone who rents this home will be wowed by the interior, exterior, setting, and opportunity to experience Iceland.

Great house with spectacular view overlooking the river with volcanos in the background!
The house was the best place we stayed in our trip all over Iceland. The phenomenal view is paired with a modern house well appointed throughout with great furniture, beds, kitchen. It worked great for a party of 7 made up of 5 adults and 2 kids. The location was perfect for us as we explored the Golden Circle for a few days and then headed off to Vik for the rest of our trip. The owners were great, ensuring everything exceeded our expectations. We made dinner one evening and used the kitchen and grill and made breakfast everyday we were there. We also enjoyed the hot tub following dinner each evening. I would highly recommend selecting this house.
